Robert L. Crabtree Collection, 1987-1991.

The collection consists of Crabtree's interoffice memoranda from 1987 to 1991 that are arranged in an ascending chronological order by log number and year. He assembled them during the latter years of his career as manager at JPL in the Office of Engineering and Review Assessment. The collection includes an index of a larger number of documents than are now in the collection. Only selected interoffice memoranda and/or letters from the index were a part of the collection when accessioned. These include IOM's relating to space flight significant events, a task plan for acceleration measurement assurance, NASA centers capabilities for reliability and quality assurance seminars, safety monitoring and analysis reporting and tracking, and various engineering and guideline requirements. Part of these documents came into existence because the JPL Office Engineering and Review has the assigned responsibility to maintain a library of engineering standards for use by program, project and task managers in the execution of their activities.
